Hello! My name is Emillie James, owner and founder of Yoga-Relaxation Remedies. When I started practicing yoga at 18, my hope was to find mental clarity and peace to counter my depression and a break from the racing thoughts of anxiety. Little did I know the positive impact it would really have on my mental strength and clarity. I had wonderful instructors who lifted me up, gave me tools for my tool box, and confidence in myself that I can do more than just "take a break" from the constant wear and tear of anxiety and depression. After doing yoga as a student for almost 4 years I decided I wanted to help those around me feel the same relief that I do and have since became certified as a 200hr RYT. My goal as an instructor is to guide others into a lifestyle that allows us to think clearly and to just slow down, living in the moment. I want to help you see the beauty you have, the light you possess, and the confidence that we all know you have.
My history of mental health is a long one, and I continue to struggle with it everyday. But the practicing how to control my breath, train myself to focus on what is in front of me, and the physical release of movement to breathe is something I strive to teach others how to do too because it has made my path much easier to walk. It is now a hill I get to walk with loved ones. Not a mountain I have to hike alone.
We all have different stories, struggles and pasts. But we all have similar goals. The physical and mental aspects that yoga has to offer is suitable for every single person that chooses to explore what it has to offer. From building muscle, training your balance, learning how to control your breath, gaining self confidence, becoming at peace with who you are and loving it. The list can go on and on.
I know the value you have. I know the gifts you hold. I know how much you have to offer the world. I want YOU know that. So start with yourself, love yourself and take care of yourself so you can give to the world. Welcome to the beginning of your yoga journey.
